Open call to play Commonspoly online
The CreaTures project promotes action for social and ecological sustainability by identifying those aspects of creative practices that contribute most effectively to positive social transformation.
One of our Experimental Productions is Commonspoly: Commonspoly is a non-profit, open-source board game that encourages a culture of cooperation and questions the violent model of neoliberal privatisation. Commonspoly emerged in 2015 as a way to hack and subvert the contemporary version of Monopoly. Just like the original, each space on the board provides goods or other resources, but in Commonspoly these goods can be Private, Public or Commons. Rather than competing to accumulate goods, the challenge is to create a society in which working together furthers the common good.
We are launching an open-call to gather players around two online gameplays we will be doing on the 14 and 15 of December (10:00 to 13:00 CET). By participating in this you will help the CREATURES team to test their evaluation methods and we will send you for free a copy of the game. If you are a student we can certify your participation in a publicly funded research activity.
Please, fill the following form to apply 🙂
The results of the call will be delivered 1 week after it is published. The selection criteria will combine different issues such as gender balance, geographical scope and racial diversity as well as their alignment with the purposes of the project.
These gaming sessions are supported by CreaTures – Creative Practices for Transformational Futures.
