Survey for Mapping Education and Heritage Initiatives (Towched)

Over the past few months, one of the projects we’ve been immersed in is Towched (Transforming Our World: Collections at the Heart of Life-long Learning and Education). ZEMOS98 is taking part in the project as a partner, representing and coordinating the PLANEA network. We shared this a few weeks ago in the Projects section of our website, and you can also learn more through this video we posted on social media.

Towched is a project coordinated by the University of Valencia, which brings together cultural and educational institutions and agents across Europe to design, test, and implement educational pathways related to heritage collections. These pathways aim to promote inclusive and lifelong transversal learning.

The project explores the transformative potential of contemporary artistic practices connected to work with museums and collections in both formal and non-formal education contexts. So, how do we research this transformative potential? Right now, we’re in a mapping phase, which includes focus groups with experts in the field.

In addition—and this is what we want to share with you today—we’ve launched a survey (it only takes a few minutes, but we’ve made it thorough) to identify existing initiatives at the intersection of education and heritage collections.

After this phase, we’ll carry out a co-design and development process to create educational interventions—pilot programs focused on sustainable development that are scalable and replicable.

If you have experience in this field or know someone who does, please fill out and share the survey! It will be incredibly helpful in building a rigorous overview of the current landscape and supporting our continued efforts to understand the global challenges we face and develop educational tools to address them.
