Ingrid Skovgaard made a trip along the Norwegian coast from the upper north to the very south visiting functioning lighthouses. Without knowing consciously what drew her there she, during one month filmed what caught her attention in these contradictive surroundings of beauty and brutality.
It has become a video and sound piece in 4 parts investigating and searching a sense of belonging joined with a yearning for poetry and beauty.
Cross Wide Out is an installation consisting of 4 videos edited as a choreographic sequence: Each of the 4 videos appear as a performer in a context communicating with and depending of each other through time. The sound appears as the 5�th performer consisting of distorted sound clips from lighthouses and Norwegian folk singing. |
